NCollect: a guest can take over a registration another guest started

by New Byte Team

A stalled registration no longer blocks the booking πŸ”“

In a group or family booking, it is common for one person to open the registration link, start filling it in and stop halfway: the signal dropped, the photo did not come out, the document stayed in the suitcase. Until now, that slot stayed locked to whoever started it, and the booking could not be completed until that person came back. Now, when a guest opens a booking slot and does not finish filling it in, another guest can take over that slot and complete the registration.

What changes

  • A slot that was started and not completed can be taken over by another guest.
  • Whoever takes over confirms the action in a dialog before moving on.
  • The form starts over from scratch: the data of whoever had started is deleted.

How it works in practice

A family of four is about to stay. The father opens the link, fills in the name and stops before the document photo. The next day, the mother opens the same link and takes over the slot. A dialog asks for confirmation; she confirms and fills in the registration to the end.

For the support team, nothing changes: the booking follows the normal flow, just without depending on whoever stopped halfway. Fewer messages like "so-and-so started and did not finish, now what?".

Good to know

  • Before taking over, the guest confirms the action in a dialog.
  • The data of whoever had started is deleted, with no way back. If the original person wants to register, they need to fill it in again.
  • Applies to the registration done by the guest themselves, through the booking link.
