Link with preview on WhatsApp 🔗
Vacation rental support runs on links: the house guide, the map with directions, the payment page, the guest document form. When the agent sent one of these through NChat, the guest received only the address, with no title or image. Many people hesitate to click a bare link, and the question "is this trustworthy?" became one more message in the conversation. Now the link arrives with the website's preview card.
What changes
- The guest receives the message with the preview card: the website's title, description and image.
- Before, only the clickable address arrived.
- The agent does not need to do anything differently: just paste the link in the message and send.
How it works in practice
The team sends the link to the property manual two days before check-in. The guest sees the property name and photo on the card, recognizes where it came from and clicks. The same goes for the payment link or the document form: the message arrives looking like a website, not loose text.
Good to know
- Applies to WhatsApp inboxes on the official API.
- The card is built by WhatsApp itself and depends on the website providing preview data. A website without that data keeps arriving as before.
- Only the first link in the message counts, and it must start with
http://orhttps://. - Does not apply to message templates.
Available in NChat V4. V4 is activated by the implementation team: request yours through NDesk.
