Macros and automations, explained field by field ⚙️
Macros and automations are what take repetitive work off the team: a macro is run in the conversation, an automation runs on its own when a rule fires. But the settings screens have many fields, and the question came up often: what each field controls, when the rule fires, what actually happens when it runs. Now the explanation is inside the screen.
What changes
The macros and automations settings screens now have the Understand the settings button. It opens a tour that highlights one field at a time and explains what it does.
- Macros: creating, editing and running them in the conversation.
- Automations: creating, editing, enabling and disabling, rule conditions and actions.
How it works in practice
The manager wants to create a new automation. Instead of building the rule on a guess and testing to see what happens, they click Understand the settings, see what a condition is, what an action is and when the rule runs, and only then build the automation. For macros, the tour shows how to create, how to edit and how to run them in the conversation, which helps anyone starting to build the team's library of shortcuts.
Good to know
- The tour only opens when you click the button. It does not appear on its own.
- It does not save progress: each time you open it, it starts from the beginning.
- It is available in Portuguese, English and Spanish.
